The BESS Isolator is a rugged, precision-engineered signal converter developed for modern battery energy storage systems (BESS) and other high-voltage DC applications. Designed to bridge the gap between high-voltage power systems and low-voltage control environments, it provides galvanically isolated measurements across three input channels—delivering safety, flexibility, and high-resolution insight in a single compact module.
Designed for Demanding Energy Environments
At its core, the BESS Isolator features two fully differential voltage inputs rated up to ±1,200 VDC and one current input compatible with standard ±50 mV shunt resistors. Each channel is galvanically isolated—not only from the output and system supply, but also from each other—allowing for complete flexibility in measurement topology. This means the current measurement can be placed on the positive or negative leg, on either the battery or application side, without compromise.
Thanks to its simultaneous sampling architecture, the BESS Isolator ensures all three inputs are measured at the same moment, enabling accurate real-time power calculations. Internal processing delivers computed values—including voltage, current, power, and energy (via coulomb counting)—directly to a connected control system via J1939 CAN bus. There's no need for external calculation or timing correction, making integration both simple and robust.
